There are gaps in the recorded audio when recording from speakers

On older machines that have slower CPUs, if the computer is performing another CPU-intensive task when recording from speakers, short gaps (periods of silence) may appear in the recorded audio. An example of a CPU-intensive task is a media player application playing a high definition video.

There is no definite solution to this problem other than recording on a faster machine. In some situations, a small improvement can be achieved by reducing the amount of processing being done. For example, by closing any applications that are not in use (including those appearing in the notification area), using lower resolution source material, or configuring Debut to use lower resolution or lower quality output.
