How to Make Text Shortcuts for Medical Transcription with FastFox
Shorthand Text Expander Programs Save Hundreds of Hours Each Year
To get started, you will need:
- Dictation audio file
- Transcription software like Express Scribe (and optional foot pedal)
- FastFox Text Expander
Once you have installed FastFox, it's easy to start setting up text shortcuts!
- Press the Add(+) button on the toolbar.
- Input the abbreviation in the "Shortcut:" box.
- Input the full word or phrase in the "Expansion" box.
- Press OK to Save your new shortcut.
- Now pressing space or enter after the abbreviated shotcut in any program will enter the full word or phrase.
- Repeat these steps for each common abbreviation, and you’re good to go.
