Download and install PhotoPad Photo Editor. Follow the installation instructions and then launch the program on your computer to begin editing.
Click the Open button in the main toolbar and select the black and white photo you want to colorize. To import a black and white photo from a scanner, click on the Import button in the main toolbar, select the scanner source and choose the Grayscale picture option to scan the black and white photo and bring it into PhotoPad.
Navigate to the Retouch tab and click the Super Color button to automatically add color to the black and white photo. You can also access the Super Color feature from the Tools dropdown in the Home toolbar. Adjust the Strength and Saturation values on the right column to further edit the image as per your preference.
Click on the Save button in the main toolbar and save your new colorized image to share with family and friends.
