How to Speed Up a Video

1. Download and install VideoPad Video Editing Software, then launch it on your computer.

2. Click on the Add Files button and select the video clips that you want to speed up to import them into VideoPad. You can also drag and drop the video files directly into VideoPad to start editing them.

3. Right click on one of the videos in the media bin to speed it up. At the bottom of the dropdown menu, select Change Clip Speed. You can also do this with videos that are already in your timeline.You can speed up a video clip by typing the video speed as a percentage directly into the Speed (%) box.

4. Playback speed is set to 100% or real-time by default. You can increase video speed to 200% to make it go twice as fast, and 300% would make it go three times as fast. Once you've set your new video clip speed, click OK. You can preview the new video speed in the Clip Preview window and drag it into your timeline when you're satisfied with it.

5. Once you've changed the speed of your video, you can drag the clip into the timeline to perform any further editing. You can cut and trim your video clip as well as add effects and transitions. If the video you chose to speed up has audio in it, you can remove the audio if you like. Just right click on the audio channel of the video clip and choose Unlink Audio. Once the audio is unlinked from the video, you can delete the audio track from the timeline.

6. When you're done with all the edits after speeding up your video, you can begin to export it. Click on the Export button in the main menu and select Video File, or click on Menu then choose the same option from the dropdown. Set your export file settings and then wait for your new video to finish exporting.
