I forgot my password for Copper software.

If you are an Administrator

1. Go to: C:\ProgramData\NCHSoftware\Copper\Staff
2. Right-click on the 1.dat file and open it with NotePad or NotePad++
3. Delete the password text, it will be similar to "&Password=%2FDqVlSKZxqKddy8nHQObDNIPs7GLr1AX"
   • Do NOT delete "&Privileges"
4. Save the file
5. Open Copper and leave the password blank when you logon
6. Open the Salespeople window from the View menu
7. Select your user id and click Edit
8. Enter a new password and click Save

1. Make sure Copper is closed.
2. On your Mac, click on the Go menu.
3. Go to Folder...
4. From the dropdown menu, enter "~/Library" without quotes, and click Go
5. Navigate to Application Support/Copper/Shared/Staff
6. Select the .dat file that corresponds to the salesperson, then press and hold the control key to right-click the .dat file.
7. Delete the password text, it will be similar to "&Password=%2FDqVlSKZxqKddy8nHQObDNIPs7GLr1AX"
   • Do NOT delete "&Privileges"
8. Save the file
9. Open Copper and leave the password blank when you logon
10. Open the Salespeople window from the View menu
11. Select your user id and click Edit
12. Enter a new password and click Save

If you are a Salesperson

1. Ask your Administrator to logon
2. Open the Salespeople window from the View menu
3. Click on the Salesperson's User Id and click the Edit button
4. Enter a new password
5. Click the Save button
6. Give the Salesperson their new Password
